Publikace SAKRAL představuje třicet let sakrální tvorby architekta Marka Štěpána a dokumentuje výběr realizovaných staveb, rekonstrukcí i nerealizovaných projektů z let 1991–2021. Kniha sleduje vývoj autorova přístupu k duchovní architektuře a zároveň přibližuje proces jeho architektonického uvažování prostřednictvím fotografií, skic a typologických studií liturgického prostoru. Grafický koncept vychází z práce se světlem, atmosférou a barevným gradientem. Ústředním motivem je duha inspirovaná světelným efektem kupole kostela blahoslavené Marie Restituty na Lesné, která se stává symbolem spojení Boha a člověka. Tento vizuální princip prostupuje celou publikací a vytváří metaforickou rovinu zobrazování sakrálního prostoru, podporující kontemplativní charakter knihy i její čtenářský prožitek.

The publication SAKRAL presents thirty years of sacred architecture by architect Marek Štěpán, documenting a selection of completed buildings, reconstructions and unrealised projects from 1991 to 2021. The book follows the development of the author’s approach to spiritual architecture while revealing his design thinking through photographs, sketches and typological studies of liturgical space. The graphic concept is based on working with light, atmosphere and colour gradients. The central motif is the rainbow, inspired by the light effect created by the dome of the Church of Blessed Maria Restituta in Lesná, symbolising the connection between God and humanity. This visual principle runs throughout the book, creating a metaphorical layer for representing sacred space and reinforcing the contemplative character of the publication.
